Should you go to Sorrento and look for a good meal I think I can definitely recommend you one of the many “trattorie” down at the Pier.Appearently there is a strong connection with the emigrants that left Italy to move to Argentina, as stated by these lovely ceramics.
I picked up one of the first locals, right at the end of the stairs. It’s called trattoria Da Emilia. It seems that the old lady passed away but the cooking is still excellent.
You are set right on the sea, close to the rocks.
I have ordered a variant of “gnocchi alla sorrentina” that normally it is with tomato sauce but I so wanted to eat some fish. It’s been the hardest summer ever with no sea, no fish, no getaways… I do needed a moment just for me, enjoy the sea breeze, unplug from everything and that’s it.
I was utterly full but I couldn’t resist to the temptation of a European Bass gullet. I have just loved it.
This was the context, at one meter from the sea, with the scent of it and the taste of it in my plate!
I am struggling for another holiday but I am aware that I am already lucky for this quick getaway.
I don’t know what happened to me. The more I live in big cities and less I can stand them.
The call of the sea is constant, I only know that I am unhappy when I stay far away from it.
So, one more post for the sea lovers…
