Montecalvello – Miscellaneous

The ancient walls of Montecalvello, an almost abandoned castle is what surprised me the most about this place.

One could say that these are only rocks but it’s much more than this, they shelter life.

Birds and plants grow up there.

Then, of course, you have the borough with its fountain…

When I think of Montecalvello I think of a vivid and live place.

With a stunning view on the surrounding area.

    1. Thank you, Jo. I am fine, I cannot complain, still half locked down because I am scared of people behaving irresponsibly outside. So I am limiting the getaways to deserted places but I still do not go out with pleasure in the city! What about you?

      1. City living is scary in these times, Flavia. The Algarve is about to be opened to tourism and we will need to be more cautious, but right now I feel relatively free and am making the most of that. Take care, hon! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  1. I have always found it interesting how nature takes back its own when humans abandon structures that were staked as claims on the land.
Feeling pensive and draggy after battling a migraine headache today. Allergy season is in full swing.

  2. What stunning photos! I especially love the ones of plants peeking out and growing over the stone structures. This place is absolutely evocative of so much peace and tranquillity, much appreciate in these times.
