Copenhagen – Rosenborg Castle

Let’s have a virtual stroll in the Christiansborg Castle gardens…

Go figure why, I am always in a hurry and I have less photos than I would have loved to hace for my first visit in Copenhaguen.

By the way I have enjoyed that trip a lot and here are some old memories…

The Castle was built in 1606-34 by Christian IV and I think it wonderfully interpretes the Danish Renaissance.

Originally it was meant as a country summerhouse for the Royal Family and today it holds the Danish Crown Jewels and other Royal Regalia.

Unfortunately I had not the time to visit the interiors but hopefully one day I can show you that part as well.

  1. One of my favourite places to visit in Copenhagen. I never miss going there. Last time I enjoyed an ice cream at the cafe as it was such a hot day in Denmark! I have never seen the changing of the guard though. That must have been fun.
