Trpejca (Part 1)

Sunday, 8 September.

We calmly take our breakfast and head to Trpejca, a very small village a few km away, defined by the guides the “Saint Tropez of the Balcans”!

The line on the lake is the border between North Macedonia and Albania

We have seen some pictures and the curiosity is great! I know Saint Tropez very well so I don’t really know what to expect.

The world is full of little Venices and none of them deserve that name!

I enjoy road trips when I am not driving!

We coast the board of Lake Ohrid. The pic here below does not make justice to the beauty of the landscape, seen from above, but trust me if I say that it was impressive!

As I said, Trpejca is a tiny village and from the map here below you can already get your own impression.

We stop at St. Nicola’s church.

It reminds me the Patriarchate of Peja.

It is closed so we direct to the lake.

The highest part of the village looks like rural and abandoned.

The more we approach to the lake we find signs of life, lots of flowers and people.

I will leave you with a sample of why we came up to here but more pictures will follow…
