This time I arrive from Palermo and it is my first time at Capodichino Airport.

Sign in the airport toilets
In the toilets I see this sign and I find it an excellent initiative, that should be followed by other public places.

Tube station of Piazza Garibaldi
Unexpectedly, it is all well organized, I catch a bus for the city center and in roughly 10 minutes I am already at my hotel.
My room is not ready yet but it is normal, it is pretty early. I drop my bag at the luggage room and go straight to Via Toledo.
I have heard so much about the new tube station than I am pretty curious.

…and disappointed! Sometimes I wonder if it is me or the others that emphasize too much!

Fried Pizza
It is very nice but I expected something different, go figure!

Quartieri Spagnoli
What strikes me a lot instead is the city itself. Last time (at least 8 years ago) it was terribly dirty.

Quartieri Spagnoli
Now it is a jewel and you can better appreciate its personality, its charm, its irony, it’s generosity and sunny character.

Umberto I Gallery, detail
In the afternoon I meet Gennaro, one of the best colleagues I ever had.
We’re friends now and he drives me to Posillipo with his scooter. I have always be scared to death of his way of driving but this time I enjoy the landscape and chat calmly while he slaloms among the cars.

The famous (only for Italians) Palazzo Palladini, set of an Italian TV series called “Un posto al sole”

Posillipo is really something, we laugh a lot and catch up the old times.

You cannot explain or describe Naples, you need to visit it.

Umberto I Gallery
You need to taste the specialties of this city, have a chat with locals even if you do not understand a world of Italian or their dialect!

Umberto I Gallery
Let Naples fascinate you with its tiny and narrowed streets, the sheets hanging on the balconies, people shouting out loud in the street, people clacsoning and insulting other drivers, let the sun embrace you, stare at the Vesuvio and feel lucky for having the chance to admire such a wonder!

The Gulf of Naples is wonderful and if you’ve got the chance to come down here I hope you will also have some days to make a tour of city, the coast and, why not, one of the islands of the archipel as well.

Piazza Plebiscito

Piazza Plebiscito
My favorite is Ischia for a tons of reasons but the others are also very nice too.

Give them a chance and you won’t be disappointed!

Vesuvio and Naples Railway Station at sunset
I usually visit Venice, but for the past few years, I have gone south, and tumbled into love with noisy, chaotic, warm, crazy Napoli. I wish I had gone there years ago! I have friends who live on Procida, what a little jewel it is.
I definitely understand what you mean… it’s a city full of life and energy! I’ll go back there on Saturday but it’s been a while since I went to Procida. I have to come back there too 😊
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing
Many thanks to you 😊
What a beautiful city. Am loving your photos.
Thank you Sue😊I going back there today so I will post more in the next days 🎉
