This is a very limited collection of landscapes that Salento’s countryside offers when you cross its wonderful fields.
The landscapes are so varied that it wouldn’t be impossible to represent here all of its beauties.
I will skip on the uncountable animals killed every year in this streets because I have decided to focus only on the good sides but unfortunately it is a sad reality you need to expect when coming down here.
In the fields you can find odd constructions made of stones that are called “pagghiare”
They were used to store the farmers tools and as a shelter in case of bad weather conditions.
You can also buy fresh products directly by the farmer
or meet very peculiar constructions in the middle of nowhere

What an astonishing color the mandarin oranges were!
yes, indeed! 😊
Thanks for the lovely scenery, too. So different than my little New England world.
The English countryside is just different but I have found it very nice too 😊
So very beautiful! Love those trees and that pagghiara.
thank you ladyfi 😊
Beautiful…the trees and the “pagghiara”. A pagghiara is a kind of barn or something else?
thank you😊yes, the pagghiara was used to store all the tools the farmer used and in case of bad weather as a shelter. I forgot to mention it in the post… I will do it! 😊
Thanks for the clarification…. 🙂
