The churches in Italy are an endless source of art.
Basilica di Santa Croce in Lecce is not an exception.
It is a masterpiece of Baroque.
It has been completed in 1695, after 2 centuries of works.
The facade is at the moment been restored so I won’t post the old pictures I had of it.
Even if it is as rich and valuable as the interior.
I will be waiting for this new works to be completed, it will be a good excuse to come back some day!
Today instead, I will share some pictures and details from the interior.
I would stay hours staring at all those columns, chapters and faces.
Unfortunately I always come here accompanied that is a huge mistake when you want to enjoy some art!
There we go, I will have to come back! 🤣
