Donnafugata

It’s been a while I wanted to visit Donnafugata.

The name of the district in which the Castle stands is derived from Arab and means “Fountain of Health”.

The Castle covers an area of 27.000 square feet (2.500 mq) and it perfectly preserves he atmosphere of nobles Sicilian families at the time of IL GATTOPARDO, the novel of Tommasi di Lampedusa.

It also contains a valuable and well preserved collection of Costumes, that is considered one of the largest and richest of Sicily.

In my opinion words cannot add anything to the charm of this place so enjoy the following pictures and if you can take a tour there because it is worth the trip!

I loved the terrace and the steps, it was so easy to imagine the atmosphere of almost 2 centuries ago
